Gordon
McFarland comes originally from Moygashel, Co. Tyrone
but now lives in Newtownards, Co. Down. His artistic ability
was first recognised and rewarded at school. He won prizes
for his painting at under 9 years of age in the Castlecaulfield
Flower Show in County Tyrone.
But it was not until 1987 that he started drawing professionally.
His fine line art drawings include scenes in Northern Ireland,
the Irish Republic and Britain. He also draws family pets. More
recently his interest has developed into motorbikes and all forms
of motorsport. His portfolio contains more than 400 drawings.
He
also takes commissions to draw people's homes, historic buildings,
churches etc. Drawings can be undertaken from old photographs
or postcards.
